In 1986, a group of Omega men who lived in Oceanside, California united with the goal of creating a chapter of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. in Northern San Diego County specifically for brothers in the area, particularly those stationed on Marine Corps base Camp Pendleton. The nine brothers worked together with Brother Jewett Walker Jr., the 12th District Representative, to construct the application and decide on important details such as meeting times, locations, duration, and the officer structure of the chapter. Their efforts were crucial in establishing the foundation for the Xi Gamma Gamma Chapter that we know today. Once they ensured that they fulfilled the criteria, the Brothers submitted the required paperwork to the International Headquarters in Washington, D.C. On March 22, 1986, their hard work paid off when the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. officially chartered the Xi Gamma Gamma Chapter (#845). The Charter includes the signed and sealed initial signatures of the attesting Grand Officers of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.
